Bend Track End Module ~ Laying the Road Bed

The track laying tips of our site will give you the details for how roadbed and track were placed on this module. The picture below shows the basic tools we used...

Liquid Nails (for projects) - easy way to glue down road bed. its also forgiving if you make mistakes, just correct them before it dries.

Thumbtacks - used to hold down the road bed after gluing. Not pictured are metal weights we place on the cork to ensure that the road bed is level without any "waves" that might cause problems for trains.

Hobby knife - used to cut the cork road bed.

This part of the project is a lot of fun. It doesn't take long to see results and for the first time you'll have a good view of how much you like or dislike your original plan. This is also a good opportunity to make any last minute adjustments... depending on your scenery, after this you're fairly committed to your design.
