Again, we refer you to the
track laying tips page of our site for details on
how to place roadbed and track. This is arguably the most important step
of building your module. Be very meticulous in how you align your curves
and track. Any significant mistakes will cause problems (like
derailments) that can be difficult to correct in the future. After you
have placed the track on your module or layout, be sure to test run
trains to determine if there are any places that need to be smoothed or
corrected. Use long stock cars and engines like auto carriers or steam
engines to test your track... they tend to be less forgiving than their
shorter counterparts.
Once the track is in place and has passed inspection,
its time to move on to painting and laying the ballast. We'll add that
section soon!
